Key points

Bronchiolitis (children under 2 years of age)

  • Epidemic phase; a sharp increase in emergency department visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in the region, and a stable, high level of cases at SOS Médecins. Hospitalizations have stabilized following emergency department visits. Slightly increased circulation of RSV.

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic situation; regional trend is stable, and activity for flu-like illness/influenza at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments is relatively low. The incidence rate of flu-like illnesses estimated by the Sentinelles network is increasing compared to week 45. Very low circulation of influenza viruses in the region.

COVID-19

  • Stabilization in healthcare utilization for suspected Covid-19 and a decrease in the number of reported Covid-19 cases in long-term care facilities in the region.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Moderate activity level and stable trend in surveillance indicators.
