Influenza Outbreak Update in French Guiana. As of November 18, 2016.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The decline in the number of visits for flu-like illness that began in mid-October continues throughout the country. If this trend is also observed next week, the end of the epidemic could be declared. The impact of the epidemic on the hospital sector remains low to moderate. Additionally, a severe case linked to the Influenza A virus was reported at the end of September. Finally, the Influenza A/H3N2 virus has been the predominant strain circulating since the start of the epidemic.
