Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Emergency department activity related to bronchiolitis continued to rise in week 49, accounting for 22% of visits.

  • SOS Médecins activity decreased (9% in week 49 vs. 12% in week 48).

Flu

  • Flu-related activity is increasing at SOS Médecins (5% of cases in W48 and 7% in W49).

  • Flu-related activity in emergency departments increased slightly, reaching 0.5%. It accounted for 1.6% of activity in the Yonne department, with nearly 50 visits for flu.

  • Since week 25, 233 clusters of acute respiratory infections (ARI) have been reported in long-term care facilities. To date, no cluster has been attributed exclusively to influenza (vs. 13 in France).

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • Activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics remains stable, within the low ranges observed during the same period last year.

  • Activity (all ages) in emergency departments is stable, remaining at the low levels observed during the same period last year.

COVID-19

  • The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 continues to rise in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, exceeding the highest level recorded in 2023. Indeed, the rate of confirmed cases in the region has increased by more than 10 points: it rose from 49.2 in Week 48 to 60.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 49.

  • The percentage of cases involving suspected COVID-19 among SOS Médecins associations is increasing (8.1% vs. 5.9% in Week 1), as is the rate of emergency department visits (2.2% vs. 1.9% in Week 1).

  • Conversely, the proportion of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is decreasing (40.3% vs. 43.6% in Week 1) and primarily involves those aged 65 and older (90.8%). Since Week 25, 233 clusters of acute respiratory infection (ARI) cases have been reported in healthcare facilities. The majority of these were attributable exclusively to COVID-19 (84%).
