The feature article in this issue of *La Santé en action* does not claim to be exhaustive. The aim here is to provide an overview of current knowledge and professional practices in perinatal care in these overseas departments, guided by the journal’s editorial policy: health promotion, prevention, and education. This first issue covers Martinique, Guadeloupe, and French Guiana.
