Smoking cessation support for people with disabilities: a pilot program in Languedoc-Roussillon.
Smoking cessation support programs are rare in facilities that serve people with disabilities. The Montpellier Regional Cancer Center and the Gefluc LR association have created a support program to combat nicotine addiction. Thirty-one facilities have agreed to implement it, covering more than 2,000 workers with disabilities. The majority of them want to quit smoking. The program was designed with their input, tailored closely to their needs. The cessation support and follow-up over a period of more than six months are yielding encouraging results.
