In Week 41 of 2022, the spread of SARS-CoV-2 stabilized in the Grand Est region:
Incidence rates stabilized across all age groups.
Increase in the number of new hospitalizations across all departments and stabilization of critical care admissions compared to Week 40 of 2022.
Increase in the number of emergency room visits, though to a lesser extent than in previous weeks.
Stable number of COVID-19 consultations for SOS Médecins associations in the region.
Monkeypox
100 cases had been reported in the Grand Est region as of 10/18/22. The situation remains unchanged compared to last week.
Bronchiolitis
OSCOUR®: In week 41 of 2022, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age was 9%, or 145 visits; this figure is up compared to the previous week. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 19% in week 41 of 2022.
SOS Médecins: In week 41 of 2022, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 9%, an increase compared to week 40 of 2022.
Virology data: According to results from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Reims, and Strasbourg, in week 41 of 2022, the circulation of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is on the rise.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, across all ages, remained generally stable in week 41 of 2022 compared to the previous week (28* versus 35 in week 40 of 2022) and accounted for less than 1% of activity.
SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, is also stable compared to the previous week (138 consultations in week 41–2022 versus 129 in week 40–2022), representing 2% of activity.
Virology data: According to data from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Reims, and Strasbourg, influenza virus circulation remains low in week 41-2022.
