COVID-19
Covid-19 continues to spread rapidly in week 01-2022, with an incidence rate of 2,245 new cases per 100,000 residents. Viral circulation is increasing across all age groups (from +11% among those aged 80 and older to +149% among those aged 0–9). The positivity rate is rising (17.1% compared to 14.6% in week 52 of 2021), as is the number of people tested (724,597 compared to 512,555 in week 52 of 2021).
Bronchiolitis
RSV circulation appears to be decreasing in the region according to data reported by the laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Strasbourg, and Reims; although for the latter, the most recent data reported dates from week 48 of 2021.
Gastroenteritis
Pressure on the healthcare system in the Grand Est region during week 01-2022 remains high due to increased activity in emergency departments and hospitalizations for acute gastroenteritis (AGE). Circulation of classic enteric viruses is observed, with a predominance of rotavirus.
