COVID-19

In week 07-2022, SARS-CoV-2 circulation declined, though it remains at a high level in mainland France, and the hospital situation remains concerning, with new admissions to general wards and intensive care units remaining at high levels. The hospital admission rate across all departments is at the same level as that observed during the peak of the third wave.

Bronchiolitis

• SOS Médecins: Due to a data transmission issue, SOS Médecins consultation data are not interpretable for week 07-2022.

• OSCOUR®: In week 07-2022, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age was 4%, stable compared to the previous week (Figure 4). There were 56 emergency department visits for bronchiolitis in week 07-2022, compared to 66 in week 06-2022. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 10% in week 07-2022, a slight decrease compared to the previous week.

Influenza

• SOS Médecins: Due to a data transmission issue, SOS Médecins consultations are not interpretable for week 07-2022.

• Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, all ages, increased in week S07-2022 compared to the previous week (50 versus 36 in S06-2022), representing 0.2% of total activity. The proportion of hospitalizations for flu-like illness among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is approximately 0.06%.

Gastroenteritis

• SOS Médecins: Due to a data transmission issue, SOS Médecins consultations are not available for week 07-2022.

• Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis, all ages, stabilized in week 07-2022 compared to week 06-2022 (650 visits versus 681 in week 06-2022), representing a share of activity that remains stable at around 3% (compared to 3% in week 06-2022). The proportion of hospitalizations for GEA among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 3% (compared to 3% in W06-22). Children under 5 years of age represent the most affected age group, with 457 visits for GEA (17% of the activity share).
