Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of June 23, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation is on the rise in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté for the third consecutive week, with increasing incidence and positivity rates across all departments and age groups.
The Omicron variant is the only one circulating in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (100% of RT-PCR samples sequenced in S23). The BA.4 and BA.5 sublineages of the Omicron variant account for more than 50% in all departments except Nièvre and Yonne according to screening data, but sequencing results are too limited to confirm this. Regarding hospital activity, the number of new hospitalizations is increasing, while the number of new admissions to intensive care is decreasing very slightly (-2).
Extreme heat, heat wave
No unusual increase in activity in emergency departments in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
Data from the SOS Médecins associations remain incomplete or even missing since mid-February.
There was a slight increase in emergency department visits for heat-related conditions from June 16 to 21.
