COVID-19
COVID-19 (pages 3–10): In S12, SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation remains at epidemic levels and is rising sharply. The incidence rate is increasing sharply (+55%) and has reached 1,041 per 100,000 inhabitants. It is rising across all age groups and in all departments. Testing and positivity rates are also on the rise.
In Week 12, the highest incidence rates are observed in Cantal, Allier, and Puy-de-Dôme. The number of new hospitalizations for COVID-19 is increasing by 20%, while the number of new admissions to intensive care remains stable at a moderate level. The total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 and the number of people in intensive care units are decreasing slightly.
Flu
13th epidemic week.
Oscour® network: visits of all ages for a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness are high and continue to rise. In Week 12, 1,556 emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness were recorded (+20% compared to Week 11), representing 3.2% of all visits across all age groups (2.7% in Week 11). Of these 1,556 visits, 153 were followed by hospitalization, representing a hospitalization rate of 9.8% for this diagnosis, down from Week 11 (10.7%). Hospitalizations for influenza/influenza-like illness accounted for 1.9% of all hospitalizations in Week 12, still an increase compared to the previous week (1.7% in Week 11). Within the region, in the Eastern sector*, hospital pressure remains higher than the regional average (2.2%).
SOS Médecins network: the number of consultations for influenza-like illness is high but decreased slightly in Week 12, with 1,252 consultations for influenza/influenza-like illness recorded (1,356 consultations in Week 11), representing 19.4% of total activity (20.3% in Week 11). According to data from the Sentinelles network, the incidence rate of influenza-like illness cases seen in general practice in Week 12 increased to 281 per 100,000 (95% CI [219–343]), compared with 205 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [164–246]) in Week 11.
