In S15, SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation remains at epidemic levels throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region but appears to be stabilizing, with very high incidence rates (1,286 per 100,000 inhabitants) and positivity rates (34%). Incidence is rising among those over 60 while declining among those under 60. Hospital indicators are still rising slightly or showing signs of stabilizing. The departments in the western part of the region (Allier, Cantal, Puy-de-Dôme) remain the hardest hit.
Flu
Oscour® network: emergency department visits of all ages in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness are decreasing. In Week 15, 996 emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness were recorded (-33% compared to Week 14), representing 2.2% of all emergency department visits (down compared to Week 14). Of these 996 visits, 121 were followed by hospitalization, representing a hospitalization rate of 12.1% for this diagnosis (higher than in Week 14). Hospitalizations for influenza/flu-like illness accounted for 1.6% of all hospitalizations in Week 15, a slight decrease compared to the previous week. Within the region, hospital pressure is higher in the Central sector, with a hospitalization rate of 2.1%.
In the SOS Médecins network, the number of cases decreased in Week 15, with 865 cases of influenza/influenza-like illness recorded (1,154 cases in Week 14), representing 14.4% of total activity (18.5% in Week 14). In contrast, indicators from the Sentinelles network show an increase in the incidence rate of influenza-like illness cases seen in general practice in Week 15. The rate rose from 191 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [139–243]) in S14 to 271 (95% CI [177–365]) in S15.
