Martinique: Reaching Out to Victims of Prostitution to Help Them Break Free [Interview].

Martinique is the first overseas department to have implemented the measures provided for by law that enable people forced into prostitution to leave that line of work, through specialized assistance and psychological, social, and reintegration support. The cycle of prostitution is a form of violence that exerts a hold over victims: successfully breaking free from this cycle requires specialized, often long-term (six to twenty-four months) and hands-on support.
