The risks associated with the use of mercury-based medical thermometers

The purpose of this article is to draw the attention of healthcare professionals to the need for vigilance regarding the mercury-related risks associated with the use of mercury thermometers; to outline the consequences of diffuse mercury releases into the environment; and finally, to encourage the use of mercury-free and therefore "environmentally friendly" temperature-measuring devices.
