Reducing social inequalities in health starting in early childhood: Learn more [Bibliography]

To address the topic of social inequalities in health and early childhood, we have deliberately narrowed the scope of our research by providing a few essential references on inequalities and several documents on parenting, followed by resources that address both topics and offer models or examples of interventions. The first section of this selection of resources sheds light on the concept of social health inequalities, their determinants, and how they are measured. The second section offers a selection of references on inequalities and early childhood, followed by a third section presenting resources and avenues for action. Finally, organizations and resource sites conclude this article. For further reading, we recommend two previous issues of La Santé de l’homme, which complement the topics covered in this special issue: - Moquet M.-J., Potvin L. (eds.). Social Inequalities in Health: Knowledge and Intervention Strategies [special issue]. La Santé de l'homme, 2011, No. 414: pp. 7–43.
