Midlife in the 2020s: New Opportunities for Prevention That Are Still Too Little Known
Middle-aged adults serve as the backbone of families, simultaneously caring for their children and, in some cases, their elderly parents. Research shows that these adults take on an average of four different roles, reflecting historical changes in family structure and function. This burden can lead to high levels of stress and accelerate the decline of their mental and physical health. American developmental psychologist Frank J. Infurna emphasizes the importance of promoting the well-being of this age group, which plays a major role in society as a whole.
