On the imprisoned woman and her relationship to her body.
Many female inmates have experienced physical abuse and mistreatment. Their privacy, already violated, is once again compromised under the constant gaze of others; their sensory experiences are affected, and self-harm can serve as a form of communication, allowing them to express their painful experiences and emotions through their bodies. Health education workshops aim, in particular, to support them in taking care of themselves and to help them build self-esteem and a sense of femininity.
