I turned my experience of mental suffering into a strength [interview]

Peer support in mental health shares knowledge drawn from lived experience, used to guide people living with mental health conditions toward recovery, without judgment or coercion. This practice, which promotes patient self-determination, is growing, but it continues to be met with mixed reactions from healthcare providers. While its development is now supported by public authorities, it is far from being recognized as a profession.
