The previous special issue of *La Santé de l'homme* devoted to mental health dates back to May–June 2002 (No. 359, online: http://www.inpes.sante.fr/SLH/sommaires/359.htm). It included a "Further Reading" section that readers may wish to consult. In this issue, we have chosen to present a short bibliography highlighting documents that deal more specifically with empowerment in mental health—a central strategy for promoting mental health—as well as a few specialized journals in mental health with a community health focus. Information regarding training programs and resource organizations is made available to the reader. [article excerpt]
