Children are happier to come to school [Interview].
At this preschool and elementary school, the educational approach is somewhat unconventional. The goal is to help students get to know themselves and recognize their abilities. There are no grades or comparisons between students, but rather an assessment of skill acquisition that enables them to progress along a path to success. The school is open to the community; for example, the local community center provides homework assistance to students. In some classes—including preschool—as part of civic values education, small philosophical discussions allow children to speak up just like adults.
