The Role of Coffee in the Primary Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes: Recent Epidemiological Evidence

Given its complex composition and widespread consumption around the world, the effects of coffee on health have been the subject of numerous studies. Epidemiological studies, which have reached consistent conclusions, have shown a significant reduction in the risk of type 2 diabetes with at least daily coffee consumption compared to no consumption at all. However, the clinical evidence remains insufficiently documented, and the minimum recommended amounts have yet to be defined.
